Selling books online

Start with what you know, and I know books! As a very young child, my mother gave me the love of reading. I started with Clifford the Big Red Dog and graduated to the boxcar children series in no time. I must have read all the books in the series dozens of times. Over the years I have accumulate hundreds of books, most of them I have read more than a few times. Some, aren't all that special to me (who am I kidding, every book is special to me!). As hard as it was to think about selling a single book, I know at this point, any extra penny or dollar will be put toward my roof /car fund.

I started posting  books yesterday on Ebay, at first, I was a little sad, thinking of the books going to a new home, but then I remembered, I have a goal and I cannot fail. My three adult children that have a disability are counting on me, an only me.  I looked through each page so I could list the imperfections, taking note that I needed to put myself in the buyers place. I also posted some shorts I no longer wear, and a Glamour magazine with Kim Kardashian on the cover, shockingly, that listing had the most views.

I have alot to learn about posting items for sale online. What are the keywords I need to use to make sure my listings are getting views? Is there a better avenue for selling books, clothes and other things? Do I have to post daily to keep my listings in the running against others? I need to research these questions.

The saying "when it rains it pours" have never been so accurate. At the end of last week, the timing chain on my only car broke. I had it towed to my house and was able to limp it to my mechanic's house. When he put the code reader on it, it threw numerous codes, he had to tell me the bad news that it just isn't worth fixing. So  now, my roof fund is also a new car fund. Challenges in life seem to come in flurries for people and I am no exception. I live 30 miles from any city with a grocery store, so a car is a necessity.

Since I live rural, I am used to stocking up on food and things that are needed around the house, I have two stand alone freezers and two refrigerators that I keep food that needs to be kept cold. To save on energy costs, I am going to combine the freezer items and, hopefully, at the end of the day I will only have one refrigerator and one stand alone freezer, this will save on the electric bill. Once this chore is done, I'm going to post one of the refrigerator and one or two freezers online . Every penny counts right now.
